California HealthCare Foundation Announces 2010 Leadership Fellows

The California HealthCare Foundation has announced the names of thirty-two health professionals selected for the tenth class of its Health Care Leadership Program.

Led by healthcare and leadership development experts associated with UCLA's Anderson School of Management, the two-year program is designed to equip talented health professionals with the skills they need to have a positive impact on healthcare policy and delivery in California. Participants in the program learn to build and lead teams, manage complexity and change, understand and use financial management tools, and respond to the changing healthcare environment. The program is administered by the Center for the Health Professions at the University of California, San Francisco.

"These leaders bring a broad range of experience as medical directors, administrators, and supervisors, as well as diverse fields of expertise including medicine, nursing, pharmacy, dentistry, clinical informatics, public health, and business," said California Healthcare Foundation president and CEO Mark D. Smith. "In the ten years [we have] supported this effort, we have been greatly impressed by participants' sustained commitment to improve the quality and efficiency of health care in California."
