The Cleveland Foundation has announced third-quarter grants totaling $14.4 million to nonprofits in the Greater Cleveland area working in a broad range of areas, including economic development, education, health care, and the arts.
Grantees include the Museum of Contemporary Art Cleveland, which was awarded $500,000 toward its capital campaign; the Manufacturing Advocacy and Growth Network (MAGNET), which received $250,000 for its Growth by Design and the New Markets Initiative; and Case Western Reserve University, which was awarded $70,000 to continue its efforts to develop relationships with Chinese organizations involved in research, education, and trade initiatives related to advanced energy. Other grants included $200,000 to the Fairhill Center for Aging for the first phase of its Kinship Village intergenerational housing project.
In addition, the foundation awarded a total of $300,000 to seven of the seventeen "innovation" schools in the Cleveland Metropolitan School District: Kenneth Clement Boys Leadership Academy, Valley View Boys Leadership Academy, MacArthur Girls Leadership Academy, Warner Girls Leadership Academy, Design Lab Early College High School, MC2STEM High School, and Ginn Academy.
