Philadelphia Arts Groups Receive $1 Million From PNC Foundation
The PNC Foundation has awarded grants totaling more than $1 million to over two dozen cultural organizations in the region, the Philadelphia Inquirer reports.
The grants, which were awarded through the foundation's Arts Alive initiative, will be used to expand outreach efforts, help build audiences, and foster other programming initiatives. The awards include $80,000 to the Philadelphia Orchestra for early-childhood outreach and to help subsidize student tickets; $75,000 to the African American Museum for its Lens Legacy video project; and $45,000 to the Philadelphia Live Arts Festival and Philly Fringe, for an artist fellowship program and general support.
The foundation also awarded grants of up to $55,000 to various cultural service organizations and agencies, including Art-Reach, WHYY-FM, the Arts and Business Council of Greater Philadelphia, the City of Philadelphia's Office of Arts, Culture and the Creative Economy, the Greater Philadelphia Cultural Alliance, and the South Jersey Cultural Alliance.
