American Ballet Theatre Receives $500,000 Matching Grant From Arison Arts Foundation

American Ballet Theatre Receives $500,000 Matching Grant From Arison Arts Foundation

The New York City-based American Ballet Theatre has announced a $500,000 matching grant from the Arison Arts Foundation to support opportunities for the next generation of dancers.

The grant will provide support for ABT's pre-professional programs, including the Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis School, the ABT II studio company, and apprenticeships with the ABT corps de ballet. The funds also will be used to establish the ABT/Gold Scholar Partnership with the National Foundation for the Advancement of the Arts' YoungArts program. One ABT/Gold Scholar will be chosen each year to receive a one-year fellowship with ABT II, enabling young dancers to further their training through stage experience and coaching.

"The Arison Arts Foundation is dedicated to nurturing and supporting young artists as they pursue their dreams, and we are thrilled to make this gift to American Ballet Theatre," said Arison Arts Foundation president Sarah Arison. "We commend the company for its commitment to identifying and encouraging the most promising talent of classical ballet through its training programs. Together, ABT, YoungArts, and the foundation will move forward, recognizing today's talent and providing the very best training for the future generation of the world's greatest dancers."
