Saint Luke's Foundation Announces Over $1 Million in Third-Quarter Grants
The Cleveland-based Saint Luke's Foundation has announced twenty grants totaling more than $1 million to support operating, capacity, and program efforts at the region's leading health and human services agencies.
Grants awarded in support of organizational efforts to find new revenue streams included $89,096 to Eliza Bryant Village, which will use the funds to develop its rehabilitation services; $50,000 to the Cleveland Sight Center for its efforts to support the visually impaired; and $30,000 to Vocational Guidance Services in support of its Nutritious Meals for Greater Cleveland's Economically Disadvantaged Children and Adults with Developmental Disabilities program.
Grants awarded to organizations that are evaluating more cost-effective ways to deliver their services included $50,000 to the HELP Foundation, which works to find shelter and other opportunities for children and adults with developmental disabilities; and $35,760 to North Coast Community Homes, which provides housing for people with mental illness and other disabilities.
Other grants include $75,000 to Planned Parenthood of Northeast Ohio; $50,000 to the Ohio Grantmakers Forum; $45,000 to Greater Cleveland Habitat for Humanity; $40,000 to the Diabetes Association; and $25,000 to the WECO Fund.
"This cycle of grants not only speaks to our core mission — improving and transforming the health and well-being of individuals and communities throughout Greater Cleveland — but it also supports innovative approaches to funding nonprofits while helping them find new ways to sustain their operations in innovative ways," said St. Luke's Foundation president and CEO Denise San Antonio Zeman.
