Piper Trust Awards $3.3 Million to Arizona Nonprofits
The Phoenix-based Virginia G. Piper Charitable Trust has announced grants totaling $3.3 million to twenty-one nonprofits serving residents of Maricopa County.
Grants include $650,000 to Ryan House to create a children's hospice and family respite facility for children with life-limiting conditions; $350,000 to the Scottsdale Cultural Council to update outdated technology; $300,000 to the American Heart Association to bring its Healthy Schools Program to seventy-five schools in the county; $250,000 to Junior Achievement of Arizona to double the capacity of its entrepreneurial learning program; and $225,000 to the Arizona Jewish Historical Society to restore the first Phoenix synagogue as a museum, educational resource, and cultural center.
"Piper Trust is honored to support projects that introduce new models and best practices and build on the rich heritage of the valley," said Piper Trust president and CEO Judy Jolley Mohraz. "These grants will make a difference in the lives of our youngest to our oldest residents throughout the valley."
