Daniels Fund Awards $8.2 Million in Third-Quarter Grants
The Denver-based Daniels Fund has announced $8.2 million in grants for programs serving youth, the elderly, and the homeless. The fund expects to award $38 million in grants and $12 million in college scholarships in 2008.
Recipients of third-quarter grants include the Colorado League of Charter Schools, Common Good Colorado, Friends of the Haven, Little Sisters of the Poor, Senior Support Services, Special Transit, the Gathering Place, and Volunteers of America.
"The level of funding made available through the charitable legacy of Bill Daniels is amazing," said fund president and CEO Linda Childears. "However, the nonprofit organizations that strengthen our communities by providing vital services continue to struggle with a lack of funding and need everyone's support."
