Rose Community Foundation Awards $2.3 Million to Denver Nonprofits
The Denver-based Rose Community Foundation has announced 103 grants totaling more than $2.3 million, including nearly $152,000 from donor-advised funds.
Grants, which were awarded to organizations working in the areas of aging, child and family development, education, health, and Jewish life, included $225,000 over two years to the Colorado branch of Volunteers of America to support home-delivery of meals and in-home safety support services; $50,000 to the Kempe Foundation for a postpartum depression intervention outreach and education campaign; and $21,000 to the Denver Indian Center to support the center's strategic and business planning.
The foundation also awarded grants through its opportunities and innovations fund, including $50,000 to the Denver Metro Convention and Visitors Bureau for the 2008 Symposia of the Rockies, a series of nonpartisan symposia to be held at the same time as the Democratic National Convention.
