Skoll Foundation, Public Radio International Partner to Expand Social Entrepreneurship Coverage
The Skoll Foundation in Palo Alto, California, and Minneapolis-based Public Radio International have announced a two-year partnership to support on-air and online coverage of social entrepreneurs.
A $600,000 grant from the foundation will enable specific PRI productions such as The World to expand their coverage of individuals who have identified sustainable solutions to global problems. Such coverage will become part of PRI's new programming initiatives, including the Our World Initiative, a programming and online engagement effort that seeks to develop journalistic capacity in critical content areas across PRI programs.
"The Skoll Foundation shares Public Radio International's commitment to solution-oriented journalism covering innovative approaches to the compelling issues of our time," said senior advancement officer Sandy Herz. "We are proud to be a part of the Our World initiative and to ensure these stories reach the broadest possible audience."
