Armstrong Foundation Awards More Than $1.5 Million for Cancer Survivorship Initiatives

The Lance Armstrong Foundation has announced grants totaling more than $1.5 million for community-based cancer survivorship initiatives across the United States.

The grants include $1.4 million to fifteen nonprofits as part of the organization's community program, which awards funds to address issues related to physical activity and nutrition, emotional support, education, and practical aspects of cancer survivorship. The organization also awarded approximately $162,000 to six community-based participatory projects to help develop partnerships as part of its research program, which funds research that meets the needs of underserved populations and encourages the efforts of established and early-career investigators.

"Through our grant program, the LAF focuses on improving quality of life for people affected by cancer," said LAF director of grants Suzanne Kho. "We are delighted to support community organizations and researchers at institutions across the country in their efforts to help cancer survivors face the challenges and changes that come with cancer."
