Tiger Woods Foundation to Build Learning Center in Washington, D.C.
Professional golfer Tiger Woods has announced that he will host a new PGA tournament in Washington, D.C., this summer to benefit the Tiger Woods Foundation, helping it expand into the D.C. area, the Washington Post reports.
While Woods also announced a long-term philanthropic commitment to the District that will connect him with the capital area for the foreseeable future, the funds raised through the AT&T National tournament, July 5-8, will be used to build a second Tiger Woods Learning Center, where kids and adolescents can learn about their career options. The inaugural Woods learning center opened a year ago in Anaheim, California.
"We hope to make the AT&T National a great tradition in this community," said Woods. "I'm thrilled the AT&T National is helping facilitate my foundation's East Coast expansion. We plan to make a lasting impact in this community — both on and off the course."
