Kessler Foundation Announces $600,000 in Grants

The Henry H. Kessler Foundation in West Orange, New Jersey, has announced fifteen grants totaling more than $600,000 to benefit people with physical disabilities through employment and special initiative programs.

The foundation, which supports New Jersey-based organizations that work toward improving employment opportunities and the quality of life for people with disabilities, awarded $56,682 to Cerebral Palsy of New Jersey for training, support, and resources to assist people with physical disabilities as they transition into the workplace. To enhance job placement and job retention services, Employment Horizons, Inc. received $60,000 for hiring an employment specialist dedicated to helping individuals with physical challenges acquire marketable, technical job skills.

In addition, the foundation awarded $75,000 to help establish a statewide, business-led advocacy and leadership effort through the New Jersey Chamber of Commerce Foundation, to address hiring practices and increase employment for the disabled.
