Based in Las Cruces, New Mexico, the Institute for Community Engagement (IFCE) was created to enhance the ability of elected officials, the nonprofit sector and the community to work together to build healthy communities and to address issues that affect vulnerable populations in southern New Mexico. The threefold mission of the IFCE is to: 1) research and facilitate policy development, 2) educate and network formal and informal community leaders, organizations and agencies to help implement positive change and 3) support the development of new organizations and new initiatives that align with IFCE's mission and vision. IFCE is now seeking its first Executive Director with an established track record in leading and scaling an organization, developing and executing growth strategies, and building partnerships to lead the continued development and growth of this organization. The Executive Director will have a deep appreciation and passion for the importance of collective action to achieve sustainable systemic change. An ability to develop trust within the local community and with key funding organizations is essential, as is a strong commitment to racial and social equity and engagement of local community leaders. This is a high profile opportunity for a dynamic professional with excellent personal relations skills and demonstrated abilities to scale up operations, manage senior level staff, and externally communicate organizational mission and values. IFCE will consider candidates with a range of career profiles whose core values and leadership profile match the demands of the Executive Director role. The Executive Director will report to and work closely with the Board of Directors to implement the organization’s organizational and programmatic goals. Position is dependent upon funding. Primary Duties and Responsibilities The Executive Director's primary role will be to execute the mission and strategic plan of the Institute. Other responsibilities will include developing and maintaining partnerships in the public, private and nonprofit sectors, grantwriting and fundraising, scaling up the organization and financial oversight, and will include the following:
