Save the Children’s Corporate Partnership team is in a growth phase. In 2011, our dynamic 12 member team generated $66 million dollars to support and inspire breakthroughs in the way the world treats children, and to achieve immediate and lasting change in their lives by improving their health, education and economic opportunities.

But there’s more to do. We are looking for dynamic, passionate, creative individuals to join our high energy, fast paced team. Together we will lead the charge on stewarding and growing million dollar plus partnerships and developing lifelong partners for change. Fundraisers or marketers with strong account management experience on the corporate or non-profit side as well as a passion for new business development, employee engagement, and the programmatic work of Save the Children is desirable. International development knowledge and experience working with Fortune 100 companies is a plus.

We are seeking an Associate Director, Corporate Partnerships to help us generate funds to support our domestic and international programs. The Associate Director will provide outstanding account service to a portfolio of corporate partners and secure new funding streams by prospecting industries and business sectors assigned to him/her. Strong cross functional teamwork is required across multiple sections of the agency: Child sponsorship, Web, Communications, Marketing, etc.

Responsibilities

Account Management: Proactively develop and implement a service plan for all assigned donors and prospects to secure seven figure partnerships. Responsible for all applicable aspects of the partnership including: proposal development, reporting, communications, cause promotions, corporate contributions, Gifts In Kind of product and/or expertise, licensing opportunities and engaging the employee base.

New Business: Lead research for assigned industries and pursue opportunities to bring in new donors

Special Projects: Support the Director, Corporate Partnerships on special projects, as needed.

Required

  • Minimum 5-7 years progressively responsible professional work experience at international and national levels in fundraising.
  • Must show demonstrated strategic ability to cultivate partners/accounts and maximize revenue
  • Corporate social responsibility, marketing, sales & account management experience desirable
  • BA required, Advanced degree in Business Management, Communications, Public Relations, Public Administration, Marketing desirable; or equivalent professional work experience in fundraising
  • Excellent presentation, communication and writing skills
  • Proposal/grant writing experience highly desirable
  • Excellent interpersonal skills - ability to navigate challenging situations to achieve goals and deadlines
  • Extremely client focused and results oriented
  • Knowledge of current theories and practices in corporate relationship building
  • Fluent in Microsoft Office package
  • Up to 15% travel may be required for meetings with corporate partners, as well as internal Save the Children meetings.
  • Passion and commitment to Save the Children’s mission and values
  • Proactive and enthusiastic attitude; comfortable representing Save the Children and its mission to external audiences.
