NYC-SNY Chapter of the National MS Society - EVP Development and Corporate Sponsorship
Direct and expand the chapter’s sponsorship relationships and income, all other corporate alliance activities including cause-related marketing programs, workplace giving programs, licensing and retail marketing initiatives and programs.

Serve as a chief strategist to develop a long-term growth plan for sponsorship and other corporate alliances for the chapter.

Identify, qualify, cultivate, solicit, recognize and steward corporate prospects and donors and manage a portfolio of key corporate donors/prospects

Research, identify and recommend a range of philanthropic and marketing-related strategies to ensure that MS Society partners with corporations and other external organizations whose brand values are consistent with the organization.

Develop and administer benefits to corporate donors; tailor specific sponsorship pitches for targeted industries.

Oversee successful chapter events and staff in both the mass market and special events, and major gifts to ensure successful against budget.

Work with Board members and event committees to ensure each event’s development potential is maximized.

Oversee staff in a highly developed major giving team. Research and identify new major gift prospects including corporations; build and maintain productive relationships with these prospects with the ultimate goal of soliciting and closing major gifts for both unrestricted and restricted funds.

Assist Chapter President and VP of Major Gifts in building and maintaining relationships with top current and prospective donors.

Oversee the use and maximization of the primary donor management system which includes ensuring accurate database of donors, relationships, donations, campaigns, corporate outreach, sponsors, events, etc.

Oversee donor management system staff training and support, reporting, syncing with other systems, and maintain relationship with system management.

Serve as chapter liaison to NMSS regional and national structure

Facilitate and participate regional and national projects and planning teams

Ensure the chapter’s voice is heard at regional and national level, facilitate communications between region, home office, and chapter

Monitor chapter performance related to region and nationally

Support the mission of the chapter by attending and participating in seven hours of mission-related programs throughout the year.

Maintain a basic knowledge of MS, including research and programs.

Serve as a good steward of all chapter resources – time, money, equipment and materials.

Ensure the chapter meets all home office guidelines and certifications within areas of responsibility

Uphold the community-held ethical standards for fundraising.

Serve as liaison to home office in area of expertise. Participate in home office and regional initiatives and other development efforts as assigned.
Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree with 7-10 years of experience in development and management.

Strong corporate connections and networking skills in the Metro New York area.

Exceptional writing, communication and oral presentations skills.
-
Strong analytical, organizational and time management skills with exceptional attention to detail.

Ability to take initiative and to manage multiple tasks and projects at a time.

Knowledge of non-profit fundraising best practices, standards and ethics. including social media
-
Ability to construct, articulate and implement a strategic development plan.
