General Manager

A NOISE WITHIN, the acclaimed classical repertory theatre company announces a newly-created senior leadership position, General Manager, based at its new 33,000 square-foot, state-of-the-art Pasadena venue. This position offers an unusual opportunity for the right candidate to play an integral role in the growth and development of the only year-round classical repertory company in Southern California and one of only a handful in the entire country dedicated solely to producing classical dramatic literature in the repertory tradition of rotating productions with a resident company of professional artists.

The new General Manager, a key member of the executive leadership team and board liaison, will build and formalize systems and processes, manage staff and ensure the smooth running of daily operations. We are looking for someone who is excited to join us during a period of growth: someone who wants to share their voice, vision, and leadership as the organization progresses to the next level. The right candidate will have a track record of employing effective management practices, is passionate about the arts, and will be ready to jump into our collaborative work environment.

A Noise Within (ANW) had an exceptionally successful inaugural year in the permanent new home, during which time the number of subscribers nearly doubled, single ticket sales increased by 42% and the company played to 90% capacity in the 283-seat theatre, almost twice the size of ANW's previous home. Founded 20 years ago, ANW has presented more than 140 plays from the classics of world literature, each season producing works from authors ranging from Shakespeare and Molière to Ibsen, O’Neill and Shaw to Miller and Williams.
