We are currently looking for an energetic, passionate, and experienced grant writer. The candidate must be a thorough, detail-oriented writer interested in improving public education and the future of under-achieving students. He/she serves as a member of Publicolor’s Development team.
Responsibilities: The successful candidate will produce and write proposals, letters of inquiry, marketing materials, reports to donors, concept papers, briefing materials, and stewardship reports. He/she will work closely with program staff to write program reports, to measure program impact, and develop outcome assessments and reports. The individual must understand the importance of evaluation data to grant-reporting process. His/her responsibilities include securing gifts and grants support from foundations, corporations, and government sources by helping to identify, prioritize, cultivate, and submit proposals to new and existing sources of support.
Organization Background: Publicolor, a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit based in New York City, engages high-risk students, ages 12-21, in their education through a continuum of design-based programs and academic support. Publicolor combats the under-education and lack of job preparedness that fuel poverty by empowering students to reach their full potential in college and career.
