Resource Development Operations ManagerPENCIL, Inc. New York, New York
The primary responsibility of the Resource Development Manager is to manage and direct all operational and administrative functions that support the projects, initiatives and annual giving of the Resource Development Department. The individual will serve to design, implement and run an internal operating network that ensures the effective attainment of goals for PENCIL's Annual Fund and Recruitment. This internal network includes data management, prospect management, project and event timeline management and fiscal and metric reporting. This position reports to the Vice President of Resource Development and will work closely with the Resource Development Team. THE ORGANIZATION Founded in 1995, PENCIL is a New York City-based education non-profit that inspires innovation and improves student achievement by connecting business leaders and public schools. Our programs share a common premise: by bringing together the best ideas, talent and resources across sectors, we can create real change in our schools. The organization’s core program—the PENCIL Partnership Program—helps schools overcome some of the challenges they face by building and supporting customized relationships between private sector leaders and principals. The program provides a flexible yet structured way for members of the business community to leverage their unique expertise and resources to help meet school needs. Partners collaborate in one or more of three impact areas: developing school leadership, building school capacity, and/or enhancing student learning. PENCIL supports these collaborations throughout the year with one-on-one technical assistance from a designated Partnership Coordinator, a library of materials outlining best practices, and a series of workshops and training events. PENCIL also runs one of the city's largest high school summer internship programs, PENCIL Fellows. Through the program, PENCIL provides promising public high school students with the dynamic experiential learning experience they need to succeed in the workplace through career readiness training and a paid summer internship.
