Network for Teaching Entrepreneurship - Executive Director

The Network for Teaching Entrepreneurship (NFTE) is seeking an Executive Director for the Baltimore program office. The Executive Director will be responsible for the creation and execution of the vision, strategy, and programs to increase NFTE’s impact and expand its programs across the Baltimore region. Responsibilities also will include organizational leadership, fundraising, and communications. The ideal candidate will bring a hands-on management style, a proven track record in effective program management, fundraising, and partnership development. S/he will thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic, and entrepreneurial environment.

Responsibilities

Vision, Strategy, and Programs

  • Work with national and local staff to develop a compelling vision for NFTE’s increased impact and program expansion across Baltimore.
  • Develop and manage the execution of a strategic plan that clearly defined priorities and measurable goals within a defined budget
  • Ensure the successful implementation and measurement of high-impact programs
  • Attend regular meetings and best practice sharing sessions with a cohort of field leaders from NFTE’s network of program offices nationally and internationally

Organizational and Team Leadership

  • Lead the local team’s execution against NFTE’s strategy and ensure alignment with the national headquarters and local Advisory Board
  • Manage a staff of four, including setting expectations, providing professional development opportunities, measuring performance, and building a team-oriented culture
  • Assure compliance with all accounting and financial management policies

Fundraising

  • Provide strategy and leadership for individual, corporate, and foundation fundraising efforts to support (and grow) an annual budget of +$800,000
  • Work with the Development Director and local Advisory Board to diversify the donor base, cultivate major gifts, and develop new cohorts of investors

Communications

  • Create and manage the organization’s communications strategy to maximize brand awareness, ensure message consistency, and share relevant knowledge with key stakeholders
  • Serve as the primary contact for all media and public relations

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 7+ years experience developing and executing successful strategies and programs
  • 5+ years experience leading a team and mentoring staff to achieve their full potential
  • Experience managing an organizational budget of $800,000 or more
  • Experience raising funds and developing partnerships to achieve revenue objectives
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic, and entrepreneurial environment
  • Comfortable using data to measure and assess program outcomes
  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills
  • Experience developing an organization’s brand and managing all external communications
  • Passion for and commitment to the education of young people
