Position Summary:
Responsible for development and execution of all LA Phil promotional efforts to generate awareness and drive sales for the Walt Disney Concert Hall and Hollywood Bowl seasons.
Position Elements:
- Identify, develop and maintain strategic partnerships and promotions with media sponsors, community partners, corporate and retail partners, securing their cooperation, support and action.
- Manage external promotions vendors on an ongoing basis, overseeing projects ranging from flyer distribution to cross promotions with major retail outlets. Provide strategic direction, set priorities, negotiate exposure points, confirm fulfillment and provide thorough reporting.
- Head up grassroots efforts: develop and oversee execution of comprehensive plans for individual concerts, series, festivals and seasons, as appropriate.
- Determine necessary promotional materials and oversee production from concept to completion. Consider purpose of each piece and provide clear, detailed direction to internal design team and/or outside designers.
- Develop and execute promotional agreements with partners, overseeing all details from contract administration to fulfillment.
- Act as brand ambassador for the LA Phil. Represent institution (and relevant season or concerts) at select community meetings and events, ranging from Downtown BID meetings to Gay Pride, book fairs, food festivals, etc.
- Plan and oversee execution of events ranging from cocktail events at Walt Disney Concert Hall to concierge appreciation picnics at the Hollywood Bowl.
- Monitor impact of all promotions on an ongoing basis to aid in future promotion development. Maintain timely and appropriate dissemination of information to management. Track and communicate all promotional discounts and offers throughout organization.
- Liaison with Group Sales team to identify and leverage outreach and group sale opportunities
- Stay informed on trends, innovations, and changes that may inspire promotion opportunities.
Position Requirements:
- 3-5 years of promotional experience in the Los Angeles area
- Bachelor’s degree required or equivalent experience
- Well versed in social media
- Background in Audience development and hospitality event planning a plus
