Manager of Volunteer Engagement

Association of Small Foundations
Washington, DC

Association of Small Foundations - Manager of Volunteer Engagement

The Association of Small Foundations (ASF), the largest membership association in philanthropy, seeks a Program Manager of Volunteer Engagement for the Educational Programs Team of its Member Services Department.

ASF has a reputation for being a nimble and entrepreneurial organization that delivers high-quality programming to its members, the broader philanthropic community, and beyond. This Program Manager of Volunteer Engagement position is ideal for someone with a desire to apply their demonstrated volunteer management, project management, and educational program development experience to a national membership association working to enhance the power of philanthropy.

The Program Manager of Volunteer Engagement is responsible for piloting and managing one of ASF’s key initiatives for engaging members as volunteers, ASF’s local engagement initiative. In 2013 this initiative includes 30-40 peer-learning and connecting programs in targeted cities across the country led primarily by volunteers. A cornerstone of the initiative is working in close collaboration with ASF member leaders and volunteers, colleague organizations, and funding partners. This position is also responsible for strengthening and coordinating ASF’s strategy for general member engagement and volunteer management. Candidates should have a Bachelor’s degree with 4 or more years of relevant work experience—particularly in developing, managing, and growing volunteer engagement efforts; previous experience in the nonprofit sector; and the ability to travel nationally approximately 25% of their time.

This is a full-time position located at ASF’s headquarters in Washington, DC. Salary is commensurate with experience. ASF offers a comprehensive and generous benefits package including vacation and sick leave, health insurance, a 401(k) retirement plan, and transit subsidies.

ASF is an equal opportunity employer and considers all applications without regard to race, color, religion, creed, gender, national origin, age, disability, marital or veteran status, sexual orientation, or any other legally protected status.
