The Photo Center is searching for a visionary leader who brings the skills necessary to help us continue to enhance our programs and reputation in the photographic arts. In partnership with a dynamic board and highly qualified staff, the person stepping into this role would be responsible for continuing to manage the organization's main program areas including educational programs, exhibitions, development, marketing, artist facilities, and community outreach work while leading the staff, board, and key stakeholders to take our work to the next level.

WHO WE ARE

The Photo Center is a unique hybrid community arts center, renowned gallery, and nationally accredited school with strong ties to the international photographic community. Our mission is to strengthen the community by elevating the art and appreciation of photography.

• We are a non-profit 501(c)(3) celebrating our 20th anniversary this year.
• The Photo Center has 10 full time staff and over 20 adjunct faculty members.
• We serve over 1,000 students per year and over 1,000 visitors and program participants.
• Our budget is just over 1-million dollars.
• We reside in a vibrant neighborhood in Seattle, Washington.

THIS ROLE ENTAILS

• Oversight of the staff, faculty, and volunteers in partnership with our department directors.
• Engaging the board in fundraising and committee work.
• Building relationships with donors and prospective donors including corporate supporters.
• Being a spokesperson and advocate for the Photo Center.
• Oversight of the programs and facilities to ensure organizational sustainability including building additional revenue streams and growing our current earned and contributed income.
• Audience building, networking, and building strategic partnerships.
• Continued review of strategic goals, progress in that direction, and flexibility to recalibrate priorities to best serve the mission of the organization.
  

WE ARE SEARCHING FOR

• A leader of a very driven staff
• A person with an excellent track record as a manager and working with diverse constituents
• Someone who can strike a balance between being a visionary ambassador and a dynamic organizer helping us to reach our goals.
• An individual who is passionate about art and photography
• Fundraising and budget management experience
• The face of the organization, representing us at networking events, and strong donor cultivation skills

Masters degree in a related field and 5+ years experience in non profit leadership preferred.

POSITION DETAILS:

• A full time role at the Photo Center in Seattle, Washington
• A salary in the range of $65k-$70k based on experience
• Benefits including health, dental, and generous paid time off
• Desired start date would be in early to mid April
