Los Angeles Universal Preschool - Quality Support Coach
As a member of a regional team, the Quality Support Coach has a dual role to validate program quality maintenance and to support and promote quality improvement in preschools.
Tasks/Major Responsibilities (include key interdependencies):
The major responsibilities are to conduct regular site visits to validate quality maintenance and to provide quality support through coaching and related learning activities to promote continuous quality improvement. Related responsibilities include: collaboration with LAUP departments, delivery of a variety of strategies for quality support and training, timely documentation of activities, and feedback to providers.

Provides technical assistance and support for early childhood programs participating in the LAUP program

Coordinates, schedules and conducts regular site visits according to agency policy and as needed

Collaborates with providers to identify strengths and areas for improvement after analyzing data from multiple sources and facilitates the implementation of a quality improvement plan

Conducts on-site training of staff and/or coordination of other training opportunities

Collaborates with Program Support staff on the implementation of Quality Improvement Plans, monitoring outcomes and feedback on progress.

Collaborates with providers to facilitate quality compliance that may include coordination with service providers and/or LAUP staff

Identifies promising practices

Promotes and models their own continuous improvement and professional growth

Other duties as assigned.
Requirements

Knowledge:

Strong foundation in early childhood education
-
Comprehensive understanding of quality standards and best practices in the field of early education, including knowledge of ECERS/FCCERS R, CLASS, curriculum implementation and child assessments.

Expertise in adult learning techniques, facilitation skills, and technical assistance learning systems.
-
Knowledge of at least two systems of preschool (i.e., Family Child Care, Head Start, State Preschool, school district)
-
Knowledge of child care licensing and the regulatory environment surrounding child care and preschool education as would normally be acquired through at least three (3) years of professional experience in positions directly involved in preschool education operating under Title 22 and Title 5 regulations.

Bilingual English/Spanish preferred but not required
Required Experience: Six to eight years overall experience with a minimum of five (5) years of experience working as a teacher, coach, site supervisor or director in an early childhood preschool-age program, or equivalent.
Formal Education required: Masters Degree in early childhood education or child development required (equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.)

Knowledge of business vocabulary and composition of business documents.

Working knowledge of correct English grammar, spelling and punctuation; ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.

Ability to learn and apply routine office policies and procedures.
Requirements/Skills:

Intermediate to advanced MS Excel skills.

Working knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles and standard financial statements.

Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Power Point, and Outlook.

Strong interpersonal skills for interfacing with staff, providers and stake holders.

Strong problem-solving and organizational skills.

Candidates may be asked to travel locally to preschool agencies in the Los Angeles County area.

Must be detail-oriented, flexible, and decisive with excellent customer service skills.

Must have a valid California Driver License.
Preferred Experience: 3-5 years general accounting or any equivalent experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
Formal Education: Bachelor’s Degree in finance, accounting or a related field necessary
