About the Organization: The Alliance for the Prudent Use of Antibiotics (APUA) is a global non-profit organization, conducting research and educational programs to prevent and control infectious diseases.[1] Based in Boston, APUA works in collaboration with Tufts University School of Medicine (TUSM) and APUA local chapter organizations in 66 countries.
Job Description:
The Executive Director serves as the chief executive officer, responsible for strategic planning, operations, fundraising, grant development and oversight of global and national research and educational programs.
Major responsibilities:

Lead development of grants and contracts from government, major foundations, and private groups.

Act as liaison with leading scientific and health organizations such as the World Health Organization (WHO), Centers for Disease Control (CDC), and Infectious Disease Society of America (IDSA)

Recruit and supervise technical staff conducting research programs, education advances, and operations

Coordinate Board of Directors and strategic planning initiatives
Qualifications:
-
Successful history of grant development and fundraising

Demonstrated entrepreneurial initiative and track record of leading organizational growth

Executive leadership experience in the commercial or nonprofit sector

Extensive experience managing programs and budgets
-
Excellent communications skills and cultural sensitivity
Knowledge of public health and infectious diseases

Advanced degree in public health; microbiology; business or clinical medicine (preferred).
Compensation:
Salary commensurate with experience. Flexible hours; full or part time.
