Development Research Analyst

Bennington College seeks a systems-oriented Development Research Analyst to serve as an integral member of the External Relations team, partnering with development staff to identify and maintain a pipeline of prospective donors for the College. Reporting to the Director of Advancement Services and Prospect Management, the Analyst will provide critical research information to help develop strategies to expand alumni engagement and private support for the College.

Duties include the preparation of research profiles, the analysis of giving data and trends to identify new prospective donors, the research of biographical, career, financial and philanthropic information, and providing assistance in the tracking and movement of prospects from identification through cultivation and solicitation. The Analyst will be responsible for implementing both long-range and short-term projects in the areas of prospect identification, prospect research, and moves management. He or she will proactively increase the prospect pipeline and be responsible for systematically tracking
fundraising performance, collecting, analyzing, and disseminating prospect information, and additional related projects.

Candidates must possess exemplary written communications skills, a strong team-orientation, impeccable attention to detail and a natural curiosity, along with the ability to manage confidential information with discretion. The successful candidate will have a strong systems orientation and experience working with relational databases. Must possess the ability to handle multiple assignments and set project priorities. A bachelor’s degree is required; experience in development research is preferred.
