YMCA of Greater New York - Business Manager
The YMCA of Greater New York reaches half a million New Yorkers through programs that focus on youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. We are seeking experienced professionals to provide leadership to the day-to-day business operations at two new branches, the Rockaways YMCA, in Arverne Queens, and the Coney Island YMCA in Brooklyn, managing a $5.0 and $4.5 million budget respectively. Major responsibilities for each position include accounts payable, receivables, human resources and payroll for 150 employees, at each branch. Details of these exciting employment opportunities are noted below.
Responsibilities:

Oversees and completes accounting, payroll, purchasing, accounts payable and accounts receivable functions.

Completes the month end reconciliation process.

Responsible for petty cash distribution & reconciliation.

Develop, track, and control the branch budget in accordance with Association guidelines.

Leads the analysis, reporting and presentation of strategic planning, annual fiscal operation, and financial forecasting.

Ensure financial performance indicators are being met.

Recruit, train, supervise and evaluate all business office staff.

Supervises the branch’s MIS/Technology needs including: AS400, Intranet/Internet and Hardware/Software.

Enforce organizational policies to ensure internal controls are maintained.

Ensure accurate and timely submission of government billing to various agencies.

Perform regular analysis of branch performance by department to identify cost savings or untapped revenue opportunities.

Participate as an active member of the branch Senior Management Team.

Assist in providing leadership to fundraising efforts for the Annual Support/Capital Campaigns.

Staff liaison to the branch Finance Committee and the Association Business Cabinet.
Qualifications:
-
Bachelor's degree in Accounting required.

Five years of experience in related accounting field; non-profit experience is a plus.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Solid MS Word and Excel skills required.

Knowledge of Oracle, Hyperion and/or AS400 is a plus.
-
Ability to work and multi-task in a fast-paced, changing environment.
