Girl Scouts of the USA - Business Analyst

The Business Analyst is accountable for overseeing the financial and business systems for Finance Services, which include, but are not limited to Sage, Personify and Net Suite. The incumbent will serve as a direct liaison between the Finance Services group and the Information and Technology group in the development and installation of new systems and system upgrades. She/he performs various accounting, financial and operational system reviews to protect the organizational assets and ensure internal controls are developed and maintained. The Business Analyst ensures the continued efficient function of all financial and business systems. The incumbent trouble shoots day-to-day financial operational problems in conjunction with the Information and Technology staff, the system administrators, and software consultants. She/he documents the current business practices, and develops desired future state-of-the-art best practices and their impact on the infrastructure. The Business Analyst ensures that the financial and business systems have the proper controls and documentation that are readily available and communicated among all finance department staff and other units in the organization. The incumbent is responsible for the development, implementation, integration, and installation of other in-house financial systems. The Business Analyst maintains the general ledger, including adjusting journal entries, master file maintenance, and meaningful special reporting management information.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in, Public Accounting, Internal Audits, financial operations and reporting or financial analysis methods and tools; experience in Big 4 environment desirable
  • Demonstrated high level of computer skills with proven understanding of system interfaces and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Demonstrated understanding and utilizing computer systems and applications as tools for analysis with knowledge of features in various systems
  • Proven organizational skills when working independently or in a team environment
  • Demonstrated strong project management and process orientated skills
  • Proficiency in audit techniques including process mapping, flow charting, and risk and control self assessment desired
  • Excellent written/verbal communication and interpersonal skills, with expertise making presentations to all levels
  • Proficiency in Windows Operating Systems, knowledge of Windows 7 a plus
  • Knowledge of Information System auditing a plus
  • Demonstrated root cause analysis experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business or Finance or equivalent relevant experience;
  • Master’s degree in Business Technology, Information Systems or related preferred; Certification or credits towards certification in CIA, CPA, or CISA desired
