K-3 Digital Learning Specialist

CFY is a national education nonprofit that helps students in low-income communities, together with their teachers and families, harness the power of digital learning to improve educational outcomes.

CFY pursues this mission through the combination of its groundbreaking K-12 learning platform, PowerMyLearning.com, and its on-the-ground direct service initiative, the CFY Digital Learning Program. PowerMyLearning makes best-in-class digital learning activities easily accessible and usable to meet the full range of K-12 learning needs. It is an integral part of CFY’s Digital Learning Program which is conducted in partnership with low-income public schools to increase home technology access, extend learning beyond the classroom, and deeply engage parents in the learning process. The program provides training for teachers, students and their parents along with a free broadband-ready home computer loaded with educational software and 24×7 bilingual help desk support.

To date, CFY has served more than 50,000 families from 100 schools nationwide and has demonstrated significant impact on student achievement, student engagement, parental confidence, and broadband adoption. To extend the impact of its work even further, CFY operates an Affiliate Network of over 30 organizations in more than 20 states and the District of Columbia.

POSITION DESCRIPTION

CFY is seeking a K-3 expert who is excited about digital learning. We are looking for someone who is excited about bringing digital content into K-3 classrooms and has their finger on the best digital content around the web.

In this role you will be a part of the PowerMyLearning.com product team and help us imagine new tools and features that will allow K-3 teachers to easily incorporate digital content into their classrooms. You will represent the voice of K-3 educators and keep our team mindful of the developmental needs of students this age. You will coordinate our efforts to bring new and exceptional K-3 digital content to PowerMyLearning.com.

This position will be remote and will report to the Director of Content-PowerMyLearning.

CANDIDATE QUALIFICATIONS

Required:

• Passion for CFY’s mission
• Experience as a K-3 educator
• Confidence working with the Common Core standards in Literacy and Math
• Strong writing skills
• Project management and team leadership skills
• Demonstrated knowledge of the K-3 digital content landscape

Preferred:

• Experience supporting teachers in implementing digital learning in the classroom, especially in K-3 grades
• Familiarity with web-based product development and/or content management

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

Compensation will be competitive and commensurate with experience. CFY also offers medical and dental insurance with an employee contribution.

WORK SCHEDULE

The work schedule will be 80% to full-time depending on the work load.
