Partners in Care Foundation - Project Associate
Responsibilities:
- Strategically represent Partners in Care Foundation in Los Angeles County by initiating, building, and maintaining multiple, high-level internal and external relationships, partnerships, and coalitions on evidence-based health promotion (EBHP) programs; Coordinating activities with coalition partners and building coalition membership; Keeps all stakeholders informed and involved;
- Tracks EBHP and local trends, analyzes emerging issues, and initiates dialogue to determine the appropriate response to community needs, both internally and externally; Develops and recommends local strategy in response to those needs;
- Works in close partnership with Partners in Care statewide EBHP strategic plan and technical assistance operations; Coordinates work plans and external meeting plans with state office staff and is an integral part of the state office team;
- Lead efforts for community outreach, recruitment, education and raises the visibility and understanding of EBHPs and Partners in Care in Los Angeles County; At times speak publicly on behalf of Partners in Care at events, meetings, and conferences;
- Coordinates all local relationships with community partners; Works closely with evidence-based program project sites and Leaders (trained workshop facilitators) to share resources and common goals, schedule workshops, manage County-wide workshop calendar, ensure program fidelity, and recruit sites and participants;
- Offers in-person and phone support to EBHP partners in Los Angeles County to promote EBHP program participation, satisfaction, and engage them for ongoing program involvement; Coordinates county-wide communications through newsletters, webinars and/or social networking services;
- Responds to inquiries from prospective organizations and leaders to explore participation and readiness to engage in evidence-based health promotion initiative; Participates in strategic planning and marketing efforts to introduce and embed evidence-based programs into prospective organizations;
- Develop and implement volunteer roles related to activities that advance program goals and Partners in Care Foundation’s strategic priorities as related to EBHPs; Foster on-the-ground volunteer involvement in the community for EBHPs; Coordinates with Project Coordinator to ensure workshop materials are provided to leaders and project sites on a timely basis;
- Co-facilitate evidence-based workshops throughout the Los Angeles area; Responsible for thorough understanding and adherence to EBHP licensing requirements and program fidelity;
- Complete reports and keep accurate files and records; Assists with research, writing and editing of progress and reapplication reports, grant proposals, letters of intent, letters of support, MOUs, marketing collateral, presentations and other written materials;
- Participate in staff meetings, training seminars and individual supervisory meetings;
- Assists Project Manager and Program Director as needed; completes other duties as assigned;
Minimum Qualifications:
- Enthusiastic about working in a team environment to improve the lives of veterans, Native Americans, people with disabilities and older persons.
- Completion of a Bachelor's degree in a related discipline and at least 2 years of directly related experience; or an equivalent combination of training and experience related to the duties of the position.
- Excellent interpersonal skills; ability to work well with all styles. Must be a team player, have demonstrated patience, humility and flexibility.
- Highly motivated and creative, able to work independently and be self-directed requiring minimal supervision; must be organized and demonstrate excellent follow-through.
- Possess strong written, verbal, and interpersonal skills, attention to detail and accuracy, and the ability to think creatively and generate new ideas.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office computer applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access etc.).
- Possession of a valid California driver's license and proof of auto insurance.
Preferred qualifications:
- Demonstrated ability to work well with aging, veteran, Native American and underserved populations.
- Master's degree in Social Work, Business Administration or related field preferred, and at least 2 years of directly related experience or an equivalent combination of training and experience related to the duties of the position.
- Experience teaching/training or group facilitation and/or demonstrated commitment. to and experience with evidence-based health promotion programs.
- Bilingual in Korean/English or Spanish/English preferred.
