National Eczema Association - Program Associate

The National Eczema Association (NEA) is dedicated to improving the health and quality of life for individuals with eczema through research, support and education. NEA is the trustworthy source of accurate medical information and caring support program offerings for the 30 million+ Americans who suffer from this incurable skin disease. NEA is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization governed by a Board of Directors and guided by a Scientific Advisory Committee comprised of top U.S. medical professionals in the field.

Job Summary:

Coordinate and assist with program, communications and development activities, including: special events, print and online/social media communications, and fundraising communications. Work as part of a dedicated team working to make a difference in the lives of those affected by eczema. Work closely with and receive guidance from CEO and Vice President, Programs & Communications.

Primary Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Coordinate direct communications with constituents on various fundraising and awareness activities
  • Coordinate printing and mailing of quarterly print magazine, assist with content development and image procurement
  • Responsible for certain recurring newsletter items
  • Responsible for advertisement artwork procurement and ad invoicing
  • Coordinate printing of educational brochures, fundraising campaigns and other items
  • Responsible for production of eNews (working within existing template, plus contributing ideas for future efficiencies), assist with content/images
  • Maintain, manage, and problem-solve for event websites (working within existing templates)
  • Examples: NEA Itching for a Cure Walk and NEA Patient Conference websites
  • Update NEA website with ongoing, new content items
  • Assist with flow of content through other communication channels
  • Coordinate social media efforts
  • Assist with Expert Contributor program
  • Oversee compilation of data and production of Annual Report
  • Coordinate travel arrangements as needed
  • Coordinate research grant applications and assist with research program as needed
  • Field phone calls and emails from NEA constituents and answer questions related to events and donations
  • Provide additional support for events and assist the CEO and VP, Programs and Communications as needed
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of two years of administrative, non-profit, event-coordinating or related experience
  • Degree in a related field or equivalent experience
  • Mac proficient
  • Social media/technical skills required
  • Proven ability to maintain professional working relationships
  • Proven exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Ability and willingness to travel
  • Ability to professionally communicate NEA's mission and objectives, while reinforcing the NEA brand
  • Appropriate sensitivity to patients and their caregivers who are struggling with a chronic and sometimes debilitating disease
  • Commitment to the mission of the National Eczema Association and goals of the organization
