Scleroderma Research Foundation - Director of Development/Major Gifts Officer
About the Organization: The Scleroderma Research Foundation (SRF), based in San Francisco, is America’s leading nonprofit investor in medical research aimed at finding improved therapies and a cure for people living with scleroderma. Founded by patient and activist Sharon Monsky in 1987, the SRF has mobilized an acclaimed national research program and has increased awareness of this life-threatening illness.
SRF research is supported wholly by private donations from individuals, corporations and foundations. The SRF’s collaborative approach is enabling scientists to work together and develop an understanding of how scleroderma begins, how it progresses and what can be done to slow, halt or reverse the disease process. In addition, the SRF provides funding to support Scleroderma Centers of Excellence where clinicians evaluate standards for patient care, innovative treatments can be tested and new physicians can be trained.
To date, the SRF has raised more than $32,000,000—providing more resources than any other nonprofit organization to support scleroderma research. Until a cure is found, the SRF will lead the way – working to help scleroderma patients everywhere live longer, fuller lives.
