Healing Place of Hampton Roads - Executive Director
The Healing Place of Hampton Roads is a nonprofit, non-medical peer recovery and rehabilitation program where homeless individuals with alcohol and other drug addictions can recover and begin to lead self sufficient lives. The program is new to Hampton Roads and modeled on successful Healing Place programs in Wake County, NC, Richmond, VA, and Louisville, KY.
The Executive Director will be responsible for guiding the organization from concept to reality – working with its board to secure funding for the facility and the program’s launch from state and local government entities, foundations, corporations, and individual private donors, secure sites for both the men’s and women’s Healing Place facilities, hire staff, and launch and oversee the program.
It is imperative that the successful candidate has demonstrated success in major gift fundraising, a minimum of four years nonprofit management or business management experience, or a combination of related education and experience, and knowledge of and/or experience with peer recovery model process. The successful candidate will have exceptional supervisory skills, superior written and verbal communication skills, and a Master’s Degree or equivalent. The position requires excellent planning, organizational, analytical, and project management skills. The position will be located in Norfolk, Virginia.
