OPPORTUNITY:

This is an exciting opportunity for an expert nonprofit finance/accounting leader to join a Finance department focused on supporting the entire organization. RESPONSIBILITIES:

Reporting to a strong and highly collaborative CFO, you will work in partnership with a VP of Field Operations to focus on the needs of the organization's home office ($100M+). In this exciting and highly visible role, you will oversee the work of a Controller, Operations Manager and Payroll/HR Director. Specific duties include management of monthly and annual financial closes, quarterly budget calls with department heads, as well as tracking, analysis, and reporting on budget/projection variances. You will analyze chapter monthly results, forecast updates, and report on key financial trends to organizational stakeholders (i.e. CFO, COO, CEO, regional executives, chapter presidents, and trustees.) In addition, you will lead the annual home office audit, oversee the preparation of charity filings (i.e. the 990, 990-T, CHAR500) and lead a comprehensive and inclusive budget process. You will oversee the daily departmental functions including accounts payables, chapter r eceivables, payroll, investments, cash management, departmental reporting, and forecasting. Your ability to keep abreast of accounting, finance, tax/finance issues to better develop new policies for society wide issues will be critical to your success.

QUALIFICATIONS:

The position requires a Bachelor's Degree in accounting (advanced degree and/or CPA preferred) and 5+ years experience in a nonprofit leadership position with budget experience of $30 million or greater. This experience should be coupled with demonstrated supervisory experience, team building, and organizational leadership success. Ability to foster collaborative management based on open, transparent, and inclusive decision-making is strongly desired. Knowledge and operational understanding of accounting principles with intimate working knowledge of financial and accounting systems, technology interfaces, reporting applications and budgeting skills are a must.
