Los Angeles Universal Preschool - Quality Certification Coordinator
FLSA: Non-exempt, Grade 16, Contract position
Responsibilities:
Under general supervision, the RTT Quality Certification Coordinator verifies staff qualifications data for RTT providers. The Coordinator is responsible for compiling, verifying and interpreting copies of teaching permits, copies of college transcripts, documentation of teachers’ work experience, copies of Professional Growth Plans.

Consistently promotes and models courteous LAUP/community service in a prompt and efficient manner. Maintains positive relationships with all LAUP internal and external contacts through professional honest interaction. Responds to requests quickly and professionally recognizing that a request serves an organization and/or community need.

Supports LAUP mission of providing high-quality preschool education to the children of Los Angeles County. Dedicated to the preschool cause (DREAM BIG), and along with LAUP team, upholds the organization to the highest standards.
Daily Tasks:

Update database to record transcript and certification information
-
Verify Child Development Permits issued by the CDTC
-
Communicate, as necessary, with the Commission of Teacher Certification and Credentialing, and organizations which may issue transcripts
-
Communicate with providers to verify accuracy of staff qualification data
-
Communicate with RTT quality coaches regarding staffing changes
-
Participate in regular training to increase and maintain core competency in interpretation of certification requirements and transcripts

Provide support to providers by answering questions on the phone and by email
-
Perform other projects and duties as assigned
Physical Duties
-
Work is primarily sedentary in nature, no special demands are required. May be expected to lift boxes up to 20 lbs.

Knowledge and Skills Requirements:
Knowledge:
-
Working knowledge of the Child Development Permit matrix from the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing
-
Knowledge of RTT program criteria and protocols
-
Demonstrated experience accessing information using databases

Strong communication verbal and written skills
-
Attention to detail
-
Ability to appropriately handle confidential information

Ability to synthesize data and provide analysis on staff certification data upon request and on own initiative
Requirements/Skills:

Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook to record data and prepare and present a variety of reports

Ability to type 45-55 WPM

Excellent customer service/phone skills

Attentive to detail and accuracy

Ability to work well both independently and with direction

Ability to accept and implement constructive criticism

Display professionalism
Preferred Experience: Minimum of 3 years experience in an early childhood preschool-age program or minimum of 3 years of working with the public in a professional environment with increasingly responsible duties, progressively responsible planning and organizational experience.
Formal Education: Bachelor’s degree preferred, but will consider candidates with some college and equivalent work experience that are continuing their education.
Language proficiency /preferred: Bilingual preferred (English/Spanish or English and any other commonly spoken language in Los Angeles County) Application Instructions
