CFY is a national education nonprofit that helps students in low-income communities, together with their teachers and families, harness the power of digital learning to improve educational outcomes.
CFY pursues this mission through the combination of its groundbreaking K-12 learning platform, PowerMyLearning.com, and its on-the-ground direct service initiative, the CFY Digital Learning Program. PowerMyLearning® makes best-in-class digital learning activities easily accessible and usable to meet the full range of K-12 learning needs. It is an integral part of CFY’s Digital Learning Program which is conducted in partnership with low-income public schools to increase home technology access, extend learning beyond the classroom, and deeply engage parents in the learning process. The program provides training for teachers, students and their parents along with a free broadband-ready home computer loaded with educational software and 24×7 bilingual help desk support.
To date, CFY has served more than 50,000 families from 100 schools nationwide and has demonstrated significant impact on student achievement, student engagement, parental confidence, and broadband adoption.
POSITION DESCRIPTION
This is an exciting opportunity to help drive the growth of a successful, entrepreneurial non‐profit by developing compelling proposals to secure grant funding from a range of sources including private foundations, corporate foundations, and government entities. On an ongoing basis, the Grants Manager will work with leadership staff at city locations and at national headquarters to develop and write proposals, manage grant-related documents, and produce required grant reports. The Grants Manager will report to the Managing Director, Development and Communications.
RESPONSIBILITIES

Create compelling and successful proposals for foundations, government and other entities, ensuring all materials are of the highest quality and all deadlines are met

Project‐manage complex proposals and reports, working across the organization with staff in different city locations and at national headquarters

Manage and maintain calendar of proposal and report deadlines and ensure timely submission to funders
-
Collaborate with the finance team to ensure accuracy and integrity of financial information including budget submissions

Identify and research new foundation prospects to help maintain a viable pipeline of opportunities

Maintain accurate and updated information in CFY’s fundraising database (Salesforce)
-
Develop and update proposal templates by gathering program information, anecdotal and statistical data, and internal and external research

Complete other writing assignments and special projects as needed
CANDIDATE QUALIFICATIONS

Passion for CFY’s mission
-
3+ years of demonstrated grant writing experience with successful track record of securing foundation grants
-
Superior writing skills including the ability to write and edit with quality, thematic congruity, and style
-
Ability to assimilate information about CFY programs from a variety of sources in order to make materials and other documents persuasive to potential funders

Understanding of the K-12 education sector and/or experience securing education-focused grants desired
-
Experience recording and managing information in a fundraising database application (Salesforce or similar system)
-
Comfortable working with budget and other financial documents required for grant submissions
-
Commitment to team collaboration and communication
-
Ability to work independently with minimal oversight and thrive under pressure and on deadline
-
Excellent time‐management and prioritization skills

Bachelor’s Degree
