Therapeutic Equestrian Center - Coodinator of Marketing and Development

Coordinator of Marketing and Development works directly with the Executive Director of the Center to develop and implement a foundational marketing and development plan for the organization. The plan will help TEC develop the following key components necessary to advance the organization:

Planning and support of fundraising and marketing activities and events, including the development and implementation of an annual marketing plan.

Development and implementation of annual fundraising plan

Development of top prospects list for grants, individual giving, and corporate support

Board development

About Us

The Therapeutic Equestrian Center, a 501 (c) (3), is located in the heart of the Hudson Valley. This riding facility is new, state of the art, dedicated to providing Equine Assisted Activities (EAT) to adults and children with disabilities, as well as the veterans returning from war. As a member of PATH (Professional Association of Therapeutic Horsemanship) we have had the pleasure of witnessing the many benefits of EAT on a large and varied population of adults and children with disabilities.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

Design, structure, and implement fundraising efforts such as annual golf outing, horse show/expo, annual gala, and appeal. Develop strategies for growing additional fundraising plans such as corporate underwriting opportunities, planned giving and so forth. Identify and solicit new prospects for gifts to support operation, capital needs, and endowment. Research private and corporate foundation grant opportunities, write proposals, and develop relationships with decision-makers of funding organization.

Develop, track and manage donor list. Manage donor data. Write and produce fundraising mailings. Work with the board of directors on board development.

Produce a quarterly report for the board of directors.

Qualifications:

Education

Bachelors Degree in Marketing or a related field is required.

Experience

  • 10 years of progressively more responsible positions in marketing, preferably in a non-profit or similar field.
  • Computer Proficiency
  • Familiarity and skill with tools of the trade in marketing including PR, written communication, website development, market research, Microsoft software suite of products, visual communication software products, and creative services as well as social media such as facebook and twitter.

Personal Characteristics

Candidate shows strong interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills: can motivate and lead, be energetic; speak persuasively in public; demonstrate excellent office and administrative skills; be creative, a self starter, problem solver, and negotiator; possess a firm understanding of what the Therapeutic Equestrian Center is about.

Working conditions

Professional office with Microsoft software

Hours/Salary

21 hours per week. Prefer Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.
