Fossil Inc. - Director, Global Giving
Job Summary: Leads and manages the Fossil Foundation and all of Fossil Group global giving programs. The Director will provide overall leadership for the Foundation’s operations, including strategic direction, program development, financial management and investment monitoring, community relations and communications.
Responsibilities:
- Work with executive leadership to establish a mission, vision, and goals for the company’s global giving strategy and the Fossil Foundation
- Develop strategies, processes, guidelines, policies and bylaws necessary to establish a foundation
- Recommend grant recipients and rationale to the board of directors
- Implement funding decisions
- Set metrics and review progress of initiatives and funded programs
- Oversee the development of collateral and other communications with internal and external audiences about the foundation
- Serve as a nonvoting member of the board of directors
- Represent the foundation to the community including, employees, nonprofits, and the general public
- Prepare and manage the foundation’s budget. Implement foundation financial control procedures
- Ensure that the foundation is complying with local, state, and federal/country laws, including the filing of all tax and other forms necessary to qualify the foundation for exemptions and deductions and other privileges accorded to such an organization
- Oversee company community relations program, including employee volunteer events and initiatives, and employee giving and matching gifts program
- Represent Fossil Group at public events, seminars and forums
Requirements:
- At least 10 years foundation or nonprofit experience, including 2 years in strategic leadership capacity, with expertise to establish the policies and procedures for creating and operating a foundation.
- Experience with various foundation models including requirements for all administration of a 501(c)(3).
- Leadership qualities, experience and EQ appropriate to interact with and influence senior executives. Embody Fossil’s core values.
- Proven ability to have influence across all sectors, with diverse constituencies and communities, to deliver results.
- Knowledge of community-benefit and philanthropic sectors as well as a working knowledge of corporate processes.
- Experience sourcing, selecting and supporting social entrepreneur partners
- Effective writing, editing, and public speaking skills.
- B.A. or B.S. required.
