Places Journal [at] Design Observer is seeking a half-time Development & External Relations Coordinator. Working closely with the Editors and Board of Directors, and reporting to the Chief Editor and Board President, the Development & External Relations Coordinator will take a lead role in organizing fundraising efforts, crafting communication and promotion strategies, researching funders and preparing grants, serving as liaison to national and international networks, advancing identity and building readership. The Coordinator will be a key member of a small and collegial team, joining a San Francisco-based staff and connecting more broadly with a 30-person board of directors located throughout North America and extending to Europe.
QUALIFICATIONS
The ideal candidate will be a creative and strategic thinker with superb written and verbal communication skills, and with a sophisticated understanding of institutional networks. Exceptionally organized, motivated and responsible. Experienced in grant writing and database management. Fluent in social media and proficient in various software such as Microsoft Office, Microsoft Access, Filemaker Pro, Adobe CS, Constant Contact, MailChimp and similar. Knowledge of and interest in architecture, urbanism and design is an asset.
SALARY
Dependent on experience.
