The Arts Council of Greater Baton Rouge is seeking a talented President and CEO to continue its strategic role as the community arts leader. The President and CEO provides the Arts Council with leadership and direction to accomplish its mission and strategic priorities; reaches out to and retains donors; brings a strong network of regional and national relationships; and develops educational programs and activities. As the Arts Council’s primary fundraiser, s/he develops and implements a resource development plan. S/he is responsible for financial and legal oversight as well as designing and carrying out an effective communication strategy.
S/he reports to and is accountable to the Arts Council’s Board of Directors. S/he acts as a spokesperson for the Arts Council and its partner organizations and develops strong, collaborative working relationships with arts organizations, funders, affinity groups, and leaders of other nonprofit, private, and public sectors at the local, regional and national levels. Qualifications include: a seasoned manager, excellent relationship builder and a reflective and strategic thinker. S/he will also be a passionate advocate for the arts and a deft leader committed to sustaining and building upon the Arts Council’s current momentum. S/he will have developed, presented and managed a diverse portfolio of programs; have experience in philanthropic and/or nonprofit management; and be familiar with various artistic mediums. Presenting experience preferred.
