SpringPoint Institute (SPI) is a newly formed and fast growing national organization based at the National Center for Civic Innovation in New York City. We are driven by a commitment to improve the secondary school outcomes for young people nationally. Our challenge is to support a network of districts and states to open new high schools that are based on integrated design principles.
Position Summary
SpringPoint Institute seeks qualified candidates for the position of Program Assistant. The Program Assistant is a new position, designed to provide central program and administrative support for SpringPoint Institute staff and the organization’s mission. The successful applicant will bring a range of organizational and productivity skills, a collaborative spirit, a problem-solving and self-initiating work ethic, and a strong sense of informed social purpose. This position is a blend of administrative and programmatic and applicants should be comfortable handling both.
This position is based in New York City. Occasional travel may be required.
Key Responsibilities

In general: serving as SpringPoint Institute’s go-to person for thoughtful, accurate, informed program support across all strategies and services, as outlined below
-
Providing general assistance in budget, expense, and grant-tracking and reporting
-
Providing specific administrative support to staff, and other collaborators, including help with research tasks and document management
-
Managing logistics for large events and occasional in-person meetings with consultants and partners, including scheduling, hotel bookings, audio visual needs, arranging group meals, assisting on-site, etc.

Scheduling meetings and travel arrangements for a small staff

Assisting as needed with the preparation and dissemination of presentations and reports

Manage website updates, copy changes, and basic web page creation, including posting relevant resources to SpringPoint Institute website

Providing support as needed for email blasts and live webinars using virtual meeting technologies

Support as required for outreach and advocacy initiatives

Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
-
At least four years of experience providing administrative and program support of the kinds described above
-
Experience with conference coordination, including planning all aspects of meeting
-
Candidate must be extremely tech savvy and have experience and excellent facility using a range of productivity software and cloud based tools, particularly Microsoft Office and Google Docs, Google analytics and social media tools

Basic knowledge of HTML code and/or web content management and editing tools

Strong writing and oral communications skills

Exceptional organizational skills

Extremely detail-oriented

Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with project teams

Understanding of budgets and budget management is a plus

Experience in non-profit environments with a social mission definitely preferred

Direct familiarity with education reform at the secondary level preferred but not required

Self-motivated, creative, and flexible in a fast-paced work environment

Bachelor’s degree required

Ability to work effectively with colleagues in an online work environment (some staff members are located in home offices)

Salary based on experience. Compensation includes comprehensive benefits and vacation package.
