Stewardship and Gift Processing Coordinator

Population Services International
Washington, DC

Population Services International - Stewardship and Gift Processing Coordinator

For more than 40 years, Population Services International (PSI) has been dedicated to improving health and saving lives. The organization has reached a pivotal moment in its history and is now poised to embark on an ambitious new initiative that will expand PSI’s impact and allow even more lives to be saved. Thanks to an investment by a well-respected large private foundation, PSI is creating a Global Investment Network of Women Leaders to help convert awareness into action through major giving (gifts of seven figures) for women and girls’ programs and innovations.

In partnership with the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, PSI is seeking to raise $50 million in new funding over the next three years for pilot programs that address the health needs of girls and women. PSI serves as the implementing partner, designing, managing, evaluating, and measuring pilot programs with NGO partners large and small.

PSI is seeking a Stewardship and Gift Processing Coordinator (SGPC) to handle the processing of contributions and acknowledgements, as well as support donor stewardship and recognition. This individual will accept, record, and receipt all charitable contributions (excluding when exceptions are noted). In addition, the SGPC will ensure database integrity by maintaining donor biographical and giving information through frequent collaboration with Program Managers and field staff. S/he will be a liaison with finance for monthly reconciliation reports and will work in collaboration with the program and finance departments for budget creation and monitoring. The SGPC must have strong financial skills and an understanding of gift processing and gift acceptance policies, as well as experience working across departments to develop donor reports and briefs. This individual will be a member of the Corporate Marketing, Communications and Advocacy (CMCA) team and will report to the Seni or Principal Gift Officer.

The Stewardship and Gift Processing Coordinator will have a bachelor’s degree and at least three years of successful experience in gift processing and database maintenance. There is a strong preference for candidates with experience in SalesForce, WealthEngine, or other donor databases. Extensive computer software experience including but not limited to Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint is a must.

Founded in 1970 to improve reproductive health using commercial marketing strategies, PSI has grown to become a global health organization that helps people in the developing world by focusing on serious challenges like a lack of family planning, HIV and AIDS, barriers to maternal health, and the greatest threats to children under five, including malaria, diarrhea, pneumonia, and malnutrition. In 2011 alone, PSI helped prevent approximately 57.5 million malaria episodes, 4.7 million unintended pregnancies, and 207,000 new HIV infections.
