Dawes Arboretum - Development Associate (Part-Time)
The Development Associate is responsible for maintaining and ensuring the integrity of the philanthropy database as well as electronic and paper files in the Development Office. This part-time position is focused on data entry, report creation, list generation, mass mailings, member acknowledgement, and fielding general development inquiries. While this position is not responsible for staff supervision, the coordination of volunteers, especially in regarding to mass mailings, is important. The Development Associate reports to the Director of Development.
Necessary skills include:
Ability to easily navigate a database and accurately generate reports and lists; ability to import, export, and sort data in various file formats; attention to detail and organization; an understanding of customer service practices; ability to work independently as well as cooperatively. Skills in both written and oral communications a must, as well as demonstration of a professional, positive and approachable demeanor.
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution and one year of related office experience or an associate’s degree and three years of related office experience required.
Experience using databases and spreadsheets required. Prior knowledge of software specific to fundraising such as DonorPerfect or Raiser’s Edge is preferred. Basic understanding of fundraising practices and principles is preferred.
