Youth Social Media Coordinator

Youth Social Media Coordinator Organization, PETA

Objective: To develop and implement PETA's youth-focused social-media and online-activism initiatives

Position Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Manage PETA's presence on our youth social-media accounts
  • Write animal rights–related content for PETA's youth websites (peta2.com and PETAKids.com)
  • Create and carry out marketing plans for promotions of online content
  • Negotiate partnerships, sponsorships, and discounts with companies
  • Research and explore new promotion possibilities and Internet technologies
  • Keep up with youth trends and interests
  • Perform any other duties assigned by the supervisor

Requirements:

  • College degree in a related field or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of two years of professional social-media and online-marketing experience
  • Demonstrated knowledge of and interest in youth culture
  • Proven interest in and strong working knowledge of the Internet
  • Extensive knowledge of animal rights issues and PETA campaigns
  • Proven ability to conduct and analyze marketing research
  • Sophisticated understanding of the creative process
  • Demonstrated ability to comfortably create and deliver presentations, address and overcome objections, and negotiate and close deals
  • Demonstrated excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proven excellent project-management, strategic-thinking, and analytical skills
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Self-starter with a proven ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Proven ability to handle multiple tasks, prioritize work, work well under pressure, and meet deadlines
  • Professional appearance and adherence to a healthy vegan lifestyle
  • Support for PETA's philosophy and the ability to professionally advocate PETA's positions on issues
  • Commitment to the objectives of the organization
