Director of Corporate and Foundation Relations, FEGS Health and Human Services

Our compassionate staff and volunteers and network of innovative programs in health, disabilities, housing, homecare, employment, education, youth and family services, coordinate and provide care and assistance to more than 10,000 people each day, some 100,000 people a year.
Reporting to the Chief Development and Marketing Officer, the Director of Corporate and Foundation Relations will identify and pursue foundation and corporate funding opportunities that align with FEGS’ mission and business objectives. The Director will work closely with key stakeholders in the organization, develop a solid understanding of and be able to articulate FEGS’ mission, programs, culture, values and how funding can deliver the best outcomes for the individuals and families served by FEGS.
The responsibilities of the Director of Corporate and Foundation Relations are:

Research foundations, corporate prospects, and institutional donors and implement a strategy to cultivate and build FEGS base of support.

Work with the executive and management staff and program departments to develop, identify and articulate program goals and funding needs.

Share information about grant opportunities, restrictions, timelines and other important considerations with internal stakeholders.

Coordinate with the Executive staff to enlist and motivate Board members and other volunteers to participate in fundraising activities.

Develop proposals and coordinate approach to foundations with the Vice President for Planning and Special Initiatives and the Grants Department.

Develop events and other campaigns with corporations to advance philanthropic efforts and fundraising goals.

Tap into exiting network of employers, vendors and other enterprises doing business with FEGS to garner philanthropic support.

With the Chief Development & Marketing Officer, prepare annual fundraising plan and targets for institutional fundraising and the budget.

Work with the Marketing Communications team to produce effective materials that highlight FEGS’ work for a broad audience.
Qualifications:
-
Minimum of ten (10) years progressively responsible experience of which at least five (5) should be at the managerial level leading with proven success the corporate and foundation development strategy and operations for a significant not-for-profit organization.

Extensive knowledge of the local New York and national foundation community with demonstrated experience marked by a record of having successfully secured philanthropic support for targeted initiatives.

A proven track record of having engaged the corporate sector in fundraising efforts.

Excellent writing, research, and project management skills.

Knowledge of the grant making process and funding sources for FEGS’ diverse portfolio of programs in the areas of Health, Disabilities Employment/Workforce, eEducation and Youth, Housing and the Arts.

A sound understanding of not-for-profit fundraising principles.

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and to produce high-quality work in a timely manner.
