STAND! For Families Free of Violence - Bilingual Domestic Violence Liaison
We are currently seeking a full-time Bilingual (Spanish/English) Domestic Violence Liaison to support and build the capacity of our partnering agency, the Family Justice Center (FJC), to work with the issue of domestic violence. This position conducts case work for the Family Justice Center’s clients experiencing domestic violence, as well as advocating for those clients and accompanying them when necessary. Fluent Spanish / English (oral and written) skills are required for this position.
The Position:
The Bilingual DV Liaison is responsible for building and maintaining an effective relationship between the Family Justice Center and STAND!, and representing STAND! in a variety of settings.
The Liaison’s main responsibility will be to provide case-management service to clients experiencing domestic violence, including direct services, ensuring clients are appropriately linked to other resources, and facilitating a weekly support group for victims of DV.
The Liaison will assist in the evaluation and revision of policies, procedures and protocols for both the Family Justice Center’s and STAND!’s services to clients experiencing domestic violence. The incumbent will also provide technical assistance and education to FJC staff on developing, assessing and maintaining methods for delivering domestic violence information to clients, and will provide ongoing consultation and education to staff of both agencies.
Information management is an important part of the work of this position, and the Liaison will maintain appropriate program record information for evaluation and reporting purposes.
Qualifications:
Please note: the successful candidate for this Bilingual position must have fluent Spanish / English oral and written skills. Verification of these abilities will be part of the interview process.
3-5 years’ experience working the Domestic Violence field direct services model is a requirement for this position, along with a demonstrated understanding of the dynamics of domestic violence and effective domestic violence intervention strategies, including experience working in DV support groups. Knowledge of domestic violence resources, including those provided by STAND!, and previous experience providing case consultation is also essential.
As a member of STAND! staff located at the Family Justice Center’s Richmond office; the Liaison must have experience working independently off-site and a demonstrated ability to build and maintain collaborative relationships with social service partners, while exhibiting a strong commitment to STAND!’s philosophy and values.
Other requirements:
Excellent public speaking & written communication skills
Some flexibility with work schedule
Proficiency in computer skills, especially using Outlook, Word, Excel and customized databases
Commitment to maintain shelter-site confidentiality
Understanding of the Agency’s mission and ability to maintain appropriate boundaries with clients in all circumstances

Reliable vehicle, valid California driver’s license, clean driving record, and proof of insurance (MVR will be run prior to hire and periodically thereafter)

Compensation and Benefits:
Hourly rate - $15.50 to $16.38 DOE + 5% bilingual differential. Regular employees working 20 or more hours per week are eligible to participate in benefit plans including dental, vision, life and AD&D insurance, voluntary acupuncture and chiropractic insurance, Flexible Spending Account, 403(B) plan (matched after one year); and to earn vacation, sick leave and holiday pay.
