The C&O Canal Trust, the official nonprofit partner of the C&O Canal National Historical Park, is seeking a new President. The President is the chief executive officer of the organization and is responsible for the strategic leadership and successful implementation and oversight of all aspects of running the organization. Primary duties will include securing funding, major gifts, and long-term resources (e.g., volunteers) to support critical Park programs. The successful candidate must foster open communication and effective working relationships with the Park Superintendent and other key Park staff to identify, prioritize, and carry out Trust initiatives intended to preserve and protect the Park. This full-time, exempt position will also oversee the Trust's administrative and financial affairs and its external relations. Candidates must have a minimum of 5 years of non-profit executive level experience, including a track record of significant fundraising. A Bachelor's degree is required, while a Master's degree is preferred. A full position description and the required qualifications are available on the C&O Canal Trust's website.
