Director of Development

The Opportunity Resource Fund combats social and economic injustice by promoting affordable home and small business ownership; and working to create strong Michigan communities. We are seeking a dynamic, experienced professional to join our team as the Director of Development. The position may be based in either our Lansing or Detroit office. This position will create, implement, and manage a comprehensive plan for fund development; and work closely with the President/CEO and Board of Directors to assure that development department goals are met, optimal performance is achieved, and budgeted resources are appropriately expended.

The ideal candidate must have a bachelor’s degree and 7-10 years of progressively responsible development experience. Additional desired attributes include: thorough knowledge, understanding, and experience in all areas of fund development, including annual giving, major gifts, planned giving, and capital campaigns; demonstrated record of management and leadership of a comprehensive development function; excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills; experience working with Boards of Directors and volunteers; budget management; strong organizational and strategic planning skills; and an understanding of the mission of Opportunity Resource Fund.
