Sports & Arts in Schools Foundation (SASF) is New York City’s leading provider of after-school programs. Our mission is to help bridge the academic performance gap among under-achieving students and in low income neighborhoods through wholesome, skill-building activities designed to improve children’s academic performance, health and wellness, attitude towards school, self-confidence, character and values, and opportunity for lifelong employment.
SUMMARY
The Manager of Communications and Marketing develops organization-wide communications, clarifying and conveying SASF’s mission and impact both externally and internally. The position will be responsible for enhancing the identity of the organization to potential funders, customers, and stakeholders, while also providing key support to the organization’s Development efforts in regards to private fundraising. The Communications and Marketing Manager will be responsible for the distribution and maintenance of all print and electronic materials, including newsletters, social media, and annual reports. (S)he will also be responsible for managing the evolution of the SASF website so that it becomes a rich and interactive destination for multiple audiences and stakeholders. The position is also responsible for handling all press and media communications, interactive with public officials, and providing speech writing support for the CEO. (S)he will also provide proposal writing support for SASF’s fundraising efforts.
The successful candidate will have exceptional communications skills with proven ability to write effectively and speak persuasively. (S)he will have at least 3 years of communications and marketing experience and a Bachelor’s Degree in Communications, Marketing, Political Science, or related. Application Instructions
