Yellow Barn - Development Associate
Yellow Barn seeks a full-time Development Associate to join its energetic and committed staff. The Development Associate works primarily with the Executive Director, but also works with Yellow Barn's small staff to advance Yellow Barn's mission and further develop connections to its community. Responsibilities include managing and hosting all events, maintaining and running reports from a database of constituents, initiating and coordinating marketing efforts, and researching, drafting, and assembling grant proposals. The Development Associate also manages the Yellow Barn office, answering general inquiries by phone and email, and performing other duties as assigned.
The Yellow Barn staff enjoys a high level of activity year-round. The summer is devoted to programs that run continuously from June to mid-August, and during the core summer season Yellow Barn presents over 30 public events over the course of seven weeks. An additional 10-15 events take place in conjunction with fall, winter, and spring Artist Residencies. Events include concerts, masterclasses, public discussions, and curriculum-based workshops in local schools. While the majority of events take place in Putney, Yellow Barn also performs in New York, Boston, DC, and Dallas, Texas.
Candidates should enjoy working and nurturing relationships in the town of Putney, Vermont and have a demonstrated track record of success in an administrative position with related responsibilities. Excellent writing and communication skills are required, and candidates should be proficient in using Microsoft Office applications and able to use Yellow Barn's unique database and website management programs. Appreciation for chamber music is essential, and first-hand knowledge of Yellow Barn is beneficial. Application Instructions
