PETA Foundation - Major Gifts Manager
Position Objectives:
To supervise, mentor, and lead the team of major gift officers and coordinators and
to develop and manage PETA’s major gifts program
Primary Responsibilities and Duties:
- Supervise major gift officers and coordinators
- Supervise the creation of prospect strategies
- Oversee the development, implementation & analysis of systems designed to fill PETA’s major gifts pipeline
- Develop and manage a portfolio of approximately 50-100 strategic gifts prospects
- Establish, in collaboration with senior management and other development staff members, annual objectives and strategies for PETA’s Vanguard Society and President’s Circle
- Oversee all communications with donors in PETA’s Vanguard Society and President’s Circle
- Develop, monitor, and evaluate program revenue goals and expense budgets
- Set prospect management goals, and provide and update revenue forecasts for assigned prospects
- Manage collaborative working relationships with fundraising colleagues to develop strategies for coordinated solicitation and to negotiate shared relationships
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor
Qualifications:
- Five or more years of experience in fundraising
- Three years of supervisory experience
- Proven track record of building donor relationships and closing gifts in the six-figure range
- Demonstrated effective written and verbal communication skills
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work with a wide variety of internal and external constituencies
- Significant experience in developing relationships with key stakeholders
- Proven budget-management skills
- Proven ability to maintain strict confidentiality at all times
- Professional appearance and adherence to a healthy vegan lifestyle
- Willingness and ability to travel extensively
- Must be at least 21 years of age and have a valid U.S. driver's license, a minimum of three years of driving experience, and a satisfactory driving record
- Ability to lift and carry 20 lbs
- Supportive position vis-à-vis PETA’s philosophy and ability to professionally advocate PETA’s positions on issues
- Commitment to the objectives of the organization
